Howdy, friend!
I'm Turner.
Those of you who know me know that I’m a hired man and a pretty dang average one at that. Those who don’t know me… well, it’s nice to meet ya. I’ve been a workin’ cowboy for over a decade now, when it began with my first full-time job on a ranch when I was 17. After that, I spent two miserable years in a farrier apprenticeship. After makin’ it out alive and gaining those horseshoeing skills that I tend to show off on social media, I’ve just been chasin’ the work.
I’ve worked on many ranches in many different states, with many good folks over the years. It’s not a fancy life, and it’s not for everyone, but it’s a good life.
Real-World Ranch Stuff
Does it sound romantic to ride horseback through God’s country every day with your best asshole cattle dog, experiencing the freedom of the open range? Well, that’s not exactly my reality. Since I don’t own a ranch yet, I also experience the uneasiness of not knowing where I’m gonna be next.
Since I dropped my first videos on social media, I’ve only wanted one thing: to be exactly who I am – an average hired man. Every day I enjoy showing people the gritty honesty of a hard day’s work on the ranch, and I have some fun along the way. When I Ain’t Workin’
Here I am with my beautiful wife, Jessie! We’ve got plenty of company with the dogs and horses, including Stinky our counterfeit grey gelding. What do I wake up for every day? My wife and that paycheck! Jessie is an OR nurse which works out well, because I’ve gotten plenty of stitches on the kitchen counter over the years. She must be a part-time angel, too, for dealing with me.
Lord, how did I get so lucky?
The Ranch
For the time being, my wife and I are happy to be located on a 5th-generation working cattle ranch in Southern Colorado. I’m working with some good folks who love their land, their community, and their family!
